| Brief
History of the Luxurious Panthers. |
| In
the early 1990's there was a great commotion in the scene upon the arrival of
the fabled |
| Luxurious
Panthers. This was a time when the 1990's Rockabilly revival was not yet in "Full
|
| Swing"
so to speak. Ford and Buddy scraped up some cash for a used Gretsch from Evan's |
| Music
and an ancient upright bass from Krazy Kat in S.A. We then found a drummer named |
| Psycho
Tim and hit the road. We gigged anywhere they would let us. Monty and Pat "Shakee" |
| West
came on board around 96' and we played Catbirds every Friday night for a couple
of |
| years.
Rockabilly fever then hit the USA and we headed out to California in support of
|
| "Texas
Tradegy" with Redman on drums. Too much partying gave the Panthers a well
|
| deserved
infamous reputation on that tour. Then followed the "Roll Panther's Roll"
era |
| regarded
by many as the hey day of rockabilly in the late 90's. Cody played drums on this |
| record
and we did a tour out west. We hit the Doll Hut, Tio Leo's, bar Deluxe, etc...
This |
| ttime
it felt better and got the band in front of many fans and friends. Then Cody joined
the |
| Navy
and back came Redman and long time side man Shakee West. This has been the lineup |
| through
"Big Game" and " Low Life of Luxury" and the steadiest lineup
over the last few years. |
